Health Insurance for Mohs Surgery and Dermatology in Tulsa
Cornerstone Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center is in network with most major health insurance plans in the Tulsa area, including Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Aetna, and Cigna. Below are the plans we currently accept for visits with our Mohs surgeons and dermatologist, including Mohs micrographic surgery and medical and surgical dermatology.
A few plans are not yet available with every provider while their network enrollment is in progress. Those plans are noted below.

Prior Authorizations and Referrals
Some plans require an extra step before your visit:
- BCBS HMO, MyBlue, BlueLincs, and BCBS EPO plans (including Value EPO) require prior authorization. Our team submits the request to your insurance company before booking your appointment.
- UnitedHealthcare HMO plans may require a referral from your primary care physician (PCP).
- TRICARE and VA coverage are accepted as secondary insurance only.
Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your plan's deductible, copay, and coinsurance.
Insurance FAQs
Does Cornerstone Dermatology accept Medicare?
Yes. All of our providers accept traditional Medicare, AARP / UnitedHealthcare, Humana, and Humana Medicare (Open Access) plans. Railroad Medicare and Cigna Healthspring are accepted by Dr. Gomez-Meade, Dr. Meyer, and Dr. Hansen, and Wellcare is accepted by Dr. Gomez-Meade and Dr. Meyer.
Do you accept Blue Cross Blue Shield?
Yes. All of our providers accept BCBS PPO, BCBS HMO, BlueLincs, MyBlue, and Native Blue plans. BCBS HMO, MyBlue, BlueLincs, and BCBS EPO plans require prior authorization, which our team submits for you before your appointment is booked.
Is Mohs surgery covered by insurance?
Mohs micrographic surgery to treat skin cancer is generally covered by Medicare and most commercial insurance plans when it is medically necessary. Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your plan's deductible, copay, and coinsurance, so we recommend checking your benefits before your procedure.
Do you accept Medicaid or SoonerCare?
No. We are not currently in network with Medicaid or SoonerCare, including as secondary insurance.
Do I need a referral?
It depends on your plan. UnitedHealthcare HMO plans may require a referral from your primary care physician, and some BCBS plans require prior authorization. Call our office and we'll let you know what your plan requires.
What if I don't see my insurance plan listed?
