Our Story

Founded in Tulsa by Dr. Carlos Gomez-Meade

Cornerstone Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center was founded in 2024 by Dr. Carlos Gomez-Meade, a double board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, with a single focus: giving patients in Tulsa and across northeastern Oklahoma access to the gold standard in skin cancer treatment, close to home.

Mohs micrographic surgery offers the highest cure rate and the smallest possible wound of any standard skin cancer treatment, and it is our specialty. Our three Mohs surgeons, Dr. Gomez-Meade, Dr. Aelayna Meyer, and Dr. Nate Hansen, are each double board-certified in dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery and completed dedicated fellowship training in Mohs surgery. Dr. Gomez-Meade also began the first-ever Cutaneous Oncology and Reconstruction Tumor Board in Tulsa.

Most recently, board-certified dermatologist Dr. Heather Hensley joined the practice, adding medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, including Hydrafacial, to the care we offer.

Each of our Mohs surgeons completed a dedicated fellowship in Mohs surgery after dermatology residency, and all three are double board-certified in dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery.
